Golden Corral buffet price: Things You Need to Know!

Golden Corral buffet restaurants give a buffet-style dinner and breakfast menu. Prices at Golden Corral are low considering the sheer number of dishes to choose from, all contained in the buffet menu. Golden Corral offer “special” weekly nights, including a steak and shrimp night, for $12. Kids under three years of age eat for free. Golden Corral said its opening would be achieved over a “location-by-location basis.” Golden Corral, however, is going for a more aggressive route by reformatting its business for cafeteria-style service.

The 483-unit chain has been the largest buffet concept in the U.S. for a long time and has been enjoying modest growth even while its opponents have struggled. The chain’s system sales grew by 0.8% this past year, according to data from Restaurant Business sister company Technomic. In comparison, its competition averaged a 3.8% decline.

The difference is even more stark when measured within the last five years: Golden Corral has averaged 0.1% sales growth within the last five years, while its overall sector has averaged a 5.6% decline.

Even before the pandemic, however, the company had attempted the latest models of. In one test, the business was checking out different payment and service models in the hopes of remaining highly relevant to a consumer shying from traditional buffets.

As the pandemic hit, it shifted to takeout. However in late March, the business opted to close its 35 company-operated locations, furloughing 2,290 employees along the way. In the cafeteria-style model, stanchions are create surrounding the buffet areas and now-common floor markers tell customers where you can stand as they fall into line because of their food. Golden Corral staff then serve customers the meals they request, eliminating the necessity for customers to touch utensils.

Inside the family-style model, servers bring customers “an endless buffet” of selected what to their tables.

In its statement, the business said it is enforcing “rigorous cleaning standards” for customer touchpoints and is also checking customers’ temperatures and adding hand sanitizing stations. Tables are spaced to keep customers apart, and drinks are being sent to tables.
